To quote one of my favorite artists, Dan McCaw, "Art is a collaboration between the heart and mind in an effort to expose a piece of the artist's soul." I'm not sure about all of that but somewhere between my head and my hand is a place that loves to paint, my heart. I have to give the glory to my Lord, Jesus Christ, and thanks to Him for the ability He's given me, to Nick for his encouragement, to Dan McCaw for his inspiration and my mom, Peggy Pettit, who thinks I can do anything (gotta love those moms!). But, let's leave the exposed soul to the Master, shall we?

Quiet Time
This painting was posted previously but as I looked at it on the blog I knew it needed a bit more to make the white pattern piece work for a more pleasing picture. So here is the revised painting.
My description? I started painting in the early 70's but laid it aside to raise a son. Nick, my husband, gave me brushes, paints, and lessons from Judy in a Christmas box in 2004. Today I describe myself as Blessed. Happy. Content. More friends than a girl deserves, good kids, healthy, beautiful grandkids, a desire to paint that far exceeds the desire to vacuum, clean bathrooms or even make the bed. I married a wonderful man who puts up with all that plus my sudden urges to move walls, change colors and rearrange our world. Oh, Thank you, Lord!
